Getting double emails with gmail

I have gmail. Its kind of annoying the way my setup is right now. I get my email through the gmail app right away then I get an email through the main email app about 5 mins later with the same email. How should I stop these double emails from happening? Thanks for reading.

U only need your gmail synched to the gmail app, synching to both is redundant.

I figured out how to fix this little issue. Just had to remove the gmail account from the email application. In the account options menu. Have to hold your finger down on the email account to bring up the menu to remove the account.

This happens because the initial set up ports your info into the standard email client. All you have to do it delete the account in the email app, This can be found in the app settings. That's all there is to it.
