Getting first Android phone soon...

I haven't owned an android phone yet, and my New Every Two is Feb 9, so I signed up here to look around to see other's experiences with their phones. My carrier is Verizon, and my main choices are the Incredible, Droid R2-D2, and Droid X.

From what I'm reading, the Incredible is my best bet. My dad has it also, so if I have a problem, he might know what it is. I'd really like it to be able to get the Android 2.3 update if possible. My only problem with the Droid X is it looks like it wouldn't be able to be in my pocket when sitting, unless I'm wearing cargo pants/shorts. Even still, it's fairly larger for that.

My only other choice is the Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S), but I've seen that it still stuck on Android 2.1, and Samsung has yet to put out 2.2 for it.

Any information on what other phones are being released soon/what current phones will receive Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

I don't much about the different Android updates, so I'm going to continue reading around, and I will be back in a few...

My fiance and his father both have Incredibles, and they're ready to jump ship to either the X or the iPhone. I've heard really good things about the Droid 2, so if you want 2.3 without having a huge phone, R2D2 is probably your best bet.

what's their issues with the Incredible? One positive for me getting that is it's $100 cheaper.

The main complaint is that it'll randomly get sluggish, and lock up. The other one is that it apparently makes random phone calls. Both of them have had people call them and say 'hey you just called me, why'd you hang up?' and even though they hadn't touched the dialer, it'll show up in their call history about 2 seconds later. They tried resetting their phones and everything, and they're still getting the ghost call issue.
