Getting Fullscreen Adverts

defected

Newbie
Hi guys,
Recently installed a few apps (I have deleted the not so useful ones) and I have managed to install some kind of advertising bot on one of them.

I have used two of the most popular ad scanners on Play Store to no avail.

Basically I will unlock my phone and I'll have a Speed Moto (or another game) in a fullscreen advert with a small 'X' in the corner to close it. If I drag down the notification bar there will be 1 or 2 notifications telling me how to install it.

One of the weird things is that the text in the notification bar for it is in black, as is the notification bar so it has to be highlighted before I can even read the text. Doesn't give me any hint as to which app has installed the issues though annoyingly!

Do these characteristics ring any bells to anyone? Got a bad feeling it might be Battery Doctor but hope not as I'm finding it a great app!

Yup, looks like something installed is pushing ads to you. Which two scanners did you try?

Lookout Ad Network Detector
TrustGo Ad Detector
AppBain Ad Detector (this just seems to think absolutely anything I install is a potential issue.)

Thanks a lot for your suggestion, it came back with 1 app which would have been installed around the time my problem started so that may well be the solution.

Great program (so far) very easy to use and took about 20 seconds installing and scanning on my S3.

Fingers crossed the annoying ads have gone now!

Hey, glad to help, man. And I agree - Great app!

Hope you've got the offending app identified.
