Ok, I am a complete noob when it comes to android phones. I have had iphones for the past 3 years and just got a Captivate around 2 weeks ago. I've finaly figured out how to get music onto the phone, but for the life of me can not figure out how to get movies onto the phone.

Itunes was simple for me. I downloaded a movie from itunes, then put it on the phone.

Now, I don't know where to find movies, let alone how to get them onto my phone.

Can anyone help? I've tried getting help in the Captivate forum to no avail. Thanks in advance

should just be able to drag and drop the files from your PC to the phone's SD card. i made a movies folder on my card. my moto droid prefers mp4 files only I believe. but once they're on the card, you can access them in the gallery.

That's my point though. How do I get movies onto my pc to put on my phone? Like I said, itunes was simple for me. But those movies are protected, so I need a new source for movies.

Thanks

I just tried putting Finding Nemo on but after an hours wait, it wouldn't play on my phone. The drag and drop method didn't work and I can select the entire CD when trying to convert

What are the issues with DRM? If I have a digital copy, it's a no-brainer. But if I don't, it seems like it would be illegal to copy DVDs to the phone.

Avatar has a DCF extension. Is that mp4?

Can you not convert the movies from Itunes to MP4 format and then just drag them or copy/paste them to a folder in your phone?

If this is not working and you are not too terribly worried about legalities, and if you know how to do this, you can go to a bit torrent site, download the movie, find a program that will convert the movies to MP4 format and then move to the phone.

I used a program called Dvd to Droid, you can do a google search for it.
I used it to convert 3 movies from DVD to an .mp4 format and I then just copied them to my phone.
It was a very simple process, it just took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to convert each movie..

i love format factory i use it mostly to take saved you tube videos and convert MP4 to MP3 by doing this you can get free MP3's off you tube videos if you didn't know. i know this isnt new and im not re-inventing the wheel; but i said let me share. and any converting app will do the same
