Getting my phone TODAY!!!

I'm excited for ALL of you! You will not be disappointed. Definitely pick up the MHL adapter from monoprice and a case if you haven't already done so. Is there anything I can answer for you?

Mostly just wondering about size at this point. With my Epic 4G I was able to text, and reach the whole screen by holding the phone with one hand and using my thumb (including pulling down the notification bar). Is this doable at all?

The thumb texting, switching screens, selecting apps is no problem at all - but the reaching the top notification bar is *a little* bit of a stretch - for me at least. You probably have bigger hands than me so you should be ok.

Cool, I don't mind having to shift the phone in my hand a little to get to the notification bar (had to do this occasionally with my Epic, depending on how I was holding it)... sounds like it should be doable. :) Thank you sir.

Damnit. I just found out panoramic mode on camera is still limited to 640 x 480 resolution. UGH! Is there an app that does a higher resolution panoramic capture?

so it doesnt come with the MHL adapter? there was a thread on here that had a video that showed it coming in the box. hmmmmmm.

2 questions which may have been answered in a video, but I haven't watched many

1. Unread mail notification? I loved my evo 4g because it had a little mail icon and it indicated on the icon how many unread messages there were. It only took 1x1 space, not a big widget.

2. 1 or 2 notification LED's (not photo), and are they different colors?

TIA

Unread mail notification - I tried all options within touchwiz, and i don't see an option to display the number of unread messages in the top of the envelope. I know that launcherpro does it though. The only notification is the one that pops up on top notification bar.

Only one notification LED - I believe it's the type that changes color (multi-color LED). The only colors I've seen it do is red so far. Maybe it will change to blue like the original Epic once it's fully charged

Yes. That is correct. I bought 5 of these in different colors for 3.37 each:

For only $2.99 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6ft 28AWG High Speed HDMI Cable w/Ferrite Cores - Red | 28AWG HDMI High Speed Certified Male to Male Cables

Gave some to my friends who needed cables and thought Best Buy was the "best" place to get them LOL

Does your MHL cable need a power source to work? I know some don't work by simply putting it in the phone and hooking it you to the hdmi and tv. Some also need an additional MicroUSB cable as well that's hooked up to a power source. I understand the concept by charging it at the same time while in use. If that's the case we or I could use the Samsung micro usb charging cord & plug that up to the wall as if I'm charging it.

Yes it does need a power source. I used the power cable that came with my phone - and you're right - it's for simultaneous charging which is great.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be ordering my adaptors. Thanks for the link as well. I just might get a wireless keyboard, mouse, and an OTG adaptor. That'll all be fun on the screen. That way I can hook usb flash disc to it and don't have to actually put movies in the device. I'll go DLNA sometimes.

Every reviewer keeps complaining about how the screen is only 480x800, and not 960x540. Does the screen look bad to you, or can you notice the individual pixel's.

I just want to know if the loudspeaker is loud enough for outdoor use and is it distortion free at max volume. I watch a lot of sports when fishing on boat. I need it to be loud enough for use outside like my Photon and Evo 4G.

Also I hope you didn't sign a 2 year contract for $75 upgrade discount. I would have just bought the phone outright if that is the case.

one thing i really liked was the facebook picture that got tied to the contact on the EVO. was that maybe a sense thing? is there facebook/contact integration on the s2?

Engadget didnt complain, in fact it sounded like they liked it better than apples retina. impressive considering its coming from engadget... as bias as they are, hard to belive they would admit to that.. let alone praise it.

Cary... congrats on being the first. My quesiton is solely about call quality for both the earpiece and for the speaker phone. I need this phone to be a great ..... well....phone.

If you hold the screen one inch from your face you can see some pixels. So if this is how you use your phone you'll probably be annoyed. Otherwise its amazing from normal use distance

Yes its available and works great. As long as you use threw facebook app and sync your contacts the pictures will display
