Getting notifications if no LED?

I have a Galaxy Note which doesn't have an LED. I would like to be able to see when I have emails and texts without having to switch my phone on to check. I have tried NoLED but this drained my battery so uninstalled it. I have heard of apps which make the Menu and back lights flash but don't know what to search for in Google Play. Does anyone know of anything like this please?

Any sustained use of the screen

What I do is just use a reminder notification. Many third party apps for SMS does this, and maybe emails too, I haven't checked. I have set Go SMS Pro to just ring every 5min if I have unread texts.

Thank you both. Good point about possibly other apps also draining battery but I would like to give others a try. The reason I'm looking for something is that I have my phone on silent at work but leave it so that I can see the screen so I am looking for something that gives me a visual indication that I have missed a text, call or email.

Are you able to plug your phone in while working?
If so then you could still use no led, and disable it during non work hours when you no longer need to have your phone on silent.
This should alleviate the battery drain issue.
Just an idea. :)

BLN control is the app you are looking for to get your back button and menu button to blink for notifications. Problem is that the app requires a kernal with a BLN mod. I have it done and works great but have recently gone back to NOled. I like to know what notification i have lol.
I don't find that NOled drains the battery to bad. Can still get through the day on a charge.
