Root Getting s-off

Hows it going friends. Im in need of some direction. I have an lg ally and have been rooted for a while now. But i have a friends my touch 3g and have rooted it with gingerbreak, so fyi, you can one click root it with gingerbreak. I was able to flash recovery with rom manager. But i CANT find how to get s-off. I dont want to flash a rom if i can manually get into recovery or risk it not sticking. Ive looked here and on xda and am having a ton of trouble finding out how to do this. Do i need to flash a new radio? Downgrade? Im comfortable with adb and command line so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever figure this out? I have a MyTouch 3g that is also s-on and need to get it s-off. It has 2.2.1 and I already have root and have installed ROM Manager. However flashing it with ClockworkMod Recovery (from ROM Manager) won't stick due to s-on. So frustrating! Thanks in advance...

i have a sapphire 32a ship s-on g
hboot-1.33.001.
radio-2.22.28.25

cant seem to get s-off,also nothing on the boot loader either.

There is no way to get S-OFF at this time. There are a few devs on XDA working on it, but at this time it's still a no.

just to throw it in there I have altered the rom that gets installed wirh the recovery/update thing from them.maybe there's other stuff to in the temp folder that it creates
