Getting SanDisk 32GB SD card

Hi all,

I've browsed lots of forums and read too many reviews on Amazon, Best Buy, etc. It seems SanDisk is a very popular SD card brand, but also very hit-or-miss as far as if it will work well. I'm going to get a 32GB class 10 card, I'm going to use it to put some movies on. Any advice, warnings, etc that y'all want to share will be appreciated and heeded. I'm a noob when it comes to using an SD card, hence my over-abundance of caution. Thank you! :)

I've been using SanDisk and Transend cards for years.

I have a SanDisk card that's been used in 3 phones and is now in my Blu-ray player. It's 5 years old, it's been run through the washing machine twice, and it's still going strong.

I think you read more about SanDisk failures because it's the most common brand out there. A disk can't fail if nobody's using it.

much like yourself and coming from a nexus and no need to have an sd I ordered one on Amazon. . used them for years and never had issues. .But for whatever reason I started reading reviews and issues, certain batches had that wasn't playing nice with s4 and newer Sammy phones. . And failure rates. . And canceled my order within time and went with a Samsung card. .

like others will say mostly negatives come from people with issues and most would come here saying they haven't had any issues. . But just from the amount of problems and supposedly SanDisk admitting the issues and offering to replace freaked me out. . so dropped the few extra bucks on the Samsung. . No issues yet. . But good luck in whatever choice you decide on!..

The only "hit anbd miss" is a mis - understanding.

SD cards DO NOT last forever. They have a limited write cycle, and when you exceed that cycle, the card is bad and if you don't have all the data on the card backed up somewhere else, you lose it. ALL SD cards have this property, from the best ones to the worst ones, but when a card fails, you'll see people saying that the brand of card is a bad one because it failed. It's not - it's going to fail. SD cards are consumables, not lifetime companions.
