Root getting to be mediator

cwhatever

Life Goes On
what makes us or anyone be or up grade to new, jr, then member, then senior, then ....... to mediator????? what is the order and stats?

The status of Jr., Member and Senior are changed after you have been a member for a certain amount of time, I believe . The Moderator position I think is voluntary . I not sure but you could always ask a Mod . :D:p

well that sounds right !!!!!

Actually, the change in status is according to the number of posts that you have. Not sure how it goes about or what the exact numbers are. But once you reach the required number of posts you're automatically catapulted into the next status by the board's software/system.

As for moderator/mediator etc you'll have to become one of the forum moderators for a particular section of the board. From time to time people are recruited for that post as it is a demanding one. I've seed adverts for them on the home page of the forum from time to time.

For comparison compare Wetbiker and me.

Ive been a moderator at the largest motorola specific forum on the internets as well as one of the original android forums (modmygphone, now merged with modmymoto and called modmymobiles) among others. Moderating is fun. Time consuming, but fun.

I also think it has something to do with the number of thanks... either you get 'em or receive 'em, idk but it seems like the more thanks you get the higher the member status.

For the "regular" ranks, it's all about the number of posts. I don't know the exact numbers, but it's something like 25, 100, 500 and then 1000 posts required.

To become a Guide, a user can receive a "promotion" and then it's up to him to accept it or not. Sometimes there are open registrations, where any volunteer gives his name and then some of them are picked to become Guides. The process is now much more alive, since promotions happen more often (and demotions of inactive Guides too). Frisco is the current Guide leader and is in charge of that, along with the admin (Phases).

For moderators, most of them were Guides in the past. The current moderation team, the Guide leader and the admin proceed to "nominate" users (mostly Guides, but not always). A selection is then made. It only happens about twice a year I'd say.

I hope that answered the question. Feel free to ask if I was unclear. ;)

The number of thanks has nothing to do with it. ;)
