Getting voicemail texts from Sprint 9016

Recently, the visual voicemail app has stopped working and instead of getting a notification when I get a new voicemail, I get a weird text message from sprint 9016.

Has this happened to anyone else?

EDIT: discovered the problem. For some reason ninja sms makes the voicemail not work. Dumb.

VVM alerts actually come in as a text message from 9016 but stock messaging app and most 3rd party messaging app ignore them and they are passed along to vvm app so it knows to download and notify you of new voice mail.

Ninja sms must not properly handle the 9016 messages and instead of ignoring and passing along to vvm app it intercepts and displays as a message

yep
