Getting VZW to give you 4gb for the price of 2gb?

I"ve heard this is a possibility and wanted to see if anyone here has been able to talk a VZ rep into getting 4gb of data for the price of 2gb? I'm still on unlimited data, my wife and I are on a shared plan, combined we use about 2gb of data a month. I'm starting a new job in a few weeks which will force me to split my time between office and on the road. Office will have WiFi road will not. The last few months i've been in the office for about 90% of my work day and on Wifi, and when i'm at home I have wifi. I'm in need of a new phone and I'm a little bit worried that with the 2gb cap we'll be going over each month and was told that sometimes you can talk the rep in to giving you 4gb for the price of 2gb. So I just wanted to check and see if anyone has had any luck in this department. Thanks.

I would love to do this myself, but since they started the Share Everything plans, I haven't heard of one promotion for those who are grandfathered in to the old plans. Makes sense, the double data was to get new customers, not to give more to the customers they already have... Now that new customers can't get this anyways, no reason to offer it I am afraid.

Thanks, I guess i'm off to craigslist to look for my next phone. 2gb is just too low of a cap. We've never gone over 2gb but who knows what the future will hold with apps and everything else.

For real. And the big question, how are they going to treat voice calls when they switch over to VoLTE... If that is treated as data too, the data use of everyone will go way up.

For the Share Everything Plan, the 2gb or whatever amount you agree to will be shared by all lines.

When I first got my phone back in Dec. '11, I got the buy 2gb get 4gb, but just recently switched to the SEP since it will save me & the wife about $30 per month. I didn't go over the 4gb but as mention, 2gb may not be quite enough some months.

For some reason when I went from a 3G phone, Casio Commando, to an LTE phone, Galaxy Nexus(used), they changed my plan to accommodate LTE and told me I'll get 4 GB. I was like, whoa whoa whoa, I'm not paying for 4 GB, keep me on two. The rep told me it was the same price, said it was double data. This was back in April.
When I bought my wife's iPhone 5, I asked about getting her the same deal, and they said that promotion was no longer going on.

Verizon use to run the double your data programs after they killed the unlimited plans where you could get 4 at the same prices as 2, along with 10 for the same as 5, and 20 for the same as 10. The condition for this promotion is that you needed to be using an lte phone or upgrade to an lte phone at the time of the promotion. This was done to encourage people to upgrade as well as to motivate people to get lte phones to unclog their 3g network at the time. With the introduction of the SE plans, there are no more individual plans for new customers, so it's highly unlikely these promotions will return. It might even come to the point that these double data plans could meet the same fate as unlimited plans one day.

Well when I bought my wife's iPhone, they were trying to convince me to switch to a share everything plan, where I'd pay $10 more to get the same amount of data I get now.... no thanks.
