Root Gingerbread 2.3.6 Official Update via ODIN + root

Yes, you can upgrade as well as root it. To unroot you simply flash the original firmware using Odin - same process that you did while upgrading. :)

i have upgraded my mobile with gingerbread 2.3.6. but now my mobile doesnot support applications that used to run on 2.2.1

1) Download this version of Odin from HERE
2) Download the firmware from HERE extract it
3) Download OPS file from HERE
4) Open ODIN and check these ONE PACKAGE,RESET TIME,AUTO REBOOT,PROTECT OPS. (Image below)
5) Load the OPS file that you have just downloaded by clicking OPS on Odin and select TASS_v1.0.ops
6) Click ONE PACKAGE button and load the extracted .tar file (S5570LWMKPJ_S5570LUUBKP8_S5570LWMKPJ_HOME.tar.md5)

Here's a photo..make sure you get them right...

DONT PRESS START YET!!!

7) Make sure that your phone is 70% charged, Turn your phone off
8) Enter downloading mode by pressing VOL DOWN + OK BUTTON + POWER BUTTON.

9) Connect the USB cable,now in Odin at COM PORT MAPPING is should appeare the USB cable as connected(COM1,COM2 etc)

10) Click Start and go grab a cup of coffee and wait till the PASS text appear with blue background. (this is about 5mins or so)

NOTE: disconnect your phone only, i repeat, ONLY when odin says PASS.

11) Do a factory reset by turning again the phone off and entering recovery menu by pressing OK BUTTON + POWER BUTTON. (NOTE: touch screen isn't available here, use vol down to move down and ok button to select) Select "wipe data/factory reset", and choose yes when asked.

WARNING: all data, including text messages and contacts will be deleted so make a backup.

Download DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit.

Extract the files to anywhere you want.

Open runme.bat.

Instructions will popup. Make sure you confirm all the instructions before proceeding.

Upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.3.6 and not able to turn off the "Use packet data". Each time I uncheck the use packet data it goes off and when i unlock the scree the "Use Packet data" gets enabled automatically.:confused:
 
I updated my phone to 2.3.6 and there is no problem at all until i check the new ringtones one by one, the sound suddenly disappeared (music player,radio,video), and everything on the volume is on max and not on silent mode. I tried going back to froyo but still no luck, can someone help me? sorry for my english and thanks in advance.

I was using gingerbread 2.3.6 in galaxy mini
bt few days ago i was reinstall froyo 2.2
after reintall froyo 2.2 i am going to upgrade it again 2.3.6 bt its showing usb not regonized(problem Code 43)
Pls Tell Me How to Solve It. Plsssss
 
pls help? Im new here ihave this samsung S5570 and it has no network,wifi-unavailable,bluetooth-unavailable.Android version 2.3.6 Baseband S5570IXXLB3 Kernel 2.3.35.7 root@DELLBUILDER03 #1 build GINGERBREAD.XILB2. pls help I don't know what to do
 
help needed with turning off the e signature on a. galaxy ace 2 with2.3.6 gingerbread and im brand new at this so im pretty much a duck in a desert... im trying to change the ram/rom whatever one it is but when im trying to download and flash with just the phones standard kernal n rom its saying e signature failed on everything im downloading any help would be greatly appreciated its gettin a tad warm in this desert;-)
oh one more thing i dont have immediate access to a pc or laptop some cheeky git robbed my laptop :mad:
