Gingerbread and .docx files?

Hi guys ..

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 and i am very pleased with it. I choose that phone because if its nice large screen, to i could use it to study while riding the bus, train etc.

The problem is, that it doesnt for some reason want to view .docx files (from office 2007) - but it reads .doc files without a problem.

I've already installed several applications that should be able to view docx files, but when i try to download one, the phone simply says "File format not supported."

... and thats it .. >_>

The programs i've installed includes "Documents to go (free edition)", Officesuite, Documents, LcWord.

But its like the phone blocks any attempts to read/download the files.

Is there anything u can do about these problems?

Thanks in advance,

Elbaek

Does your SGS2 have Polaris Office installed? Mine does, and it handles .docx and .xlsx just fine.

Yes it does. And i can create .docx files without problems, and also read them once they are onto the phone, but for some reason the phone doesnt allow me to download files. I just takes me into the Downloads app, and after a few seconds gives me the message:

"Download failed. The content is not supported on this phone."

Even though i just created and viewed a docx file with polaris.

Is there some setting that can be changed so u can download whatever u want, and let u deal with the problems that u might experience afterwards..

Thx for replying :)
