Gingerbread camera

Just wondering why the gingerbread camera is such a downgrade from the froyo camera. I wont the old camera back please!!!

I didn't notice much of a difference between the FroYo and the GB camera app other than the white on black menus. But then I use vignette for most of my photos.
Which phone do you have?
