Root Gingerbread on HTC Desire (no Orange or Generic update).

Hi,

I have an Orange(UK) branded HTC Desire. I looked on HTCdev - HTC Kernel Source Code and Binaries for an update to gingerbread. There is no 'Generic' or 'Orange' (Carrier) upgrade for 'Desire'. There is a Desire S upgrade for orange and a Desire upgrade for T-Mobile. Will these work or what should I do?

Particularly odd there is not a Generic update for the Desire (UK).

The only official gingerbread update for the desire is the one from the HTC site which they appear to have withdrawn. It is available though through the link in the root guide. I've pasted the link below.

Nope. They were always pretty half-hearted about 2.3 for the Desire though.
