Gingerbread or Not Gingerbread, That Is The Question

I just wanted to check in and see what the latest is. My Shift was getting worse and worse, and more bizarre. Out of the blue, it would go into Airplane mode, or turn off my Bluetooth, in addition to all the other problems. I purchased my phone from Best Buy, and have the Black Tie service. I talked to the Geek Squad. They took my Shift and gave me a refurbed Shift a few days later, pre-Gingerbread. I liked many of the features of Gingerbread but they were not worth the problems. Is there a way to know when this issue has been addressed by HTC, or whoever is responsible? In other words, is there a way to know when Gingerbread will be fixed, and safe to download?

I updated to Gingerbread a few days after the ota update was released. I've had zero problems. I dont notice the htc loading screen, but that might be because I use Adw launcher instead of Sense. But my wife also has the shift and sees no issues with Sense.

From what I can tell, it's all improvements and no problems.

Try wiping this new shift before the update, see if that helps. But I would proceed with the update without fear.

I'm sure the instant the patch comes out there will be a thread about it. just watch the evo shift section every day looking for a thread titled "gingerbread patch is here!" or something of the sort.
