Help Gingerbread rollback to 2.2.1

been trying to rollback as i prefer 2.2.1 (using the samfirmware/odin method) and can't get it to work. all loads ok but after reboot simply hangs on the samsung logo then shuts off. anyone have this problem or a workaround?

try to flash a froyo rom which has bootloaders inside it

i think so Ezrom has bootloaders inside it
