Root Gingerbread theme for GAOSP

Hi!

I've ported the new theme from Android 2.3 gingerbread to GAOSP. It works great and looks very nice in my opinion, and I thought some of you might also be interested in this look. This does only include modifications to framework-res.apk, no application icon or interface is changed.

Most credit goes to krispijn_s @ XDA, whose resized image-files I've used.

Installation instructions

  1. Download the latest version of the theme (GingerbreadGAOSP_*.*.zip) to the Galaxy internal SDcard
  2. Reboot in recovery:
    • Make a nandroid backup (makes life so much easier if something goes wrong ;))
    • Fix packages permissions
    • Apply any zip from sd -> point to GingerbreadGAOSP_*.*.zip
    • Reboot
  3. Navigate to "Settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface->Tweaks extras->Select a theme" and choose "gingerbread"
  4. Optionally change your notification power widget indicator color to something like #ffaaff00
  5. Enjoy a sleek dark UI, perfect for the Galaxy's AMOLED screen :D

Installed, but why can't I see much difference?Just the notification bar is changed a bit. Wallpaper is the same grey armor thing as before.

Edit; Icons are new, too.
 
Also install gingerbread keyboard, you will like it. :p

P.S: don't forget to apply Obi's fix (it's worth it) - now we have 0.71 WIP build ;)
 
Waiting for the next version of Gingerbread theme, which works on the 15122010 nightly aka 0.71 build (released yesterday). :p

hold on, if it is the 12152010, uploaded 15h ago, the the theme does work, just got it
 
If you didn't do a full wipe it should work, but it's always recommended to do a full wipe 'cause each build brings something new in system data - in this case new Wi-Fi drivers. Wipe which keeps system data doesn't always works like it should. So if you get some weird behavior don't blame it on Drakaz & co.
 
But this one still has the black text on black background issue doesn't it?

Edit: is seems like the new market really slowed things alot does it not?
