Gingerbread to ICS???

I have a rooted droid Razr running Gingerbread 6.12.181.XT912. Version 2.3.6. I have another rooted Razr running ICS. I want to upgrade the Gingerbread phone to ICS without losing all my apps and data (which is quite extensive). The OTA does not work. So, I need to do it the manual method. Could someone please point me to a link on this site or youtube with directions on how to do it? I have searched but there are so many versions of instructions out there I don't want to do the wrong one. I need to get to the latest version of ICS and maintain root, apps, and data. Thank you!

The best way to do this is to use Titanium backup to backup your apps and app data. Then after you install the ICS ROM, restore your apps.

When installing a custom ROM manually you need to do a full system wipe to ensure nothing conflicts with the new ROM. This wipe erases all app data.

You may want to check out the All Things Rooted section for the Razr for more help.

Does Motorola not have a desktop upgrade client? I mean on a Samsung or Sony phone, if OTA does not work, you can use Kies/PC Companion. I think HTC also has one, so curious about Moto's methods.

I use Titanium and keep a thorough back up. I assume things on the external SD like photos and music will be safe. My concern is that the apps and data will not be compatible with ICS and I will lose information. Or is that not the case? Also, what about the system settings, can those be restored or do I need to re-set up the system once ICS is installed?

Thank you for your help thus far!

I do not know of any way to save system settings.

There my be a chance of app incompatibilities. When I upgraded my Incredible 2 from Gingerbread to ICS I did not run into any issues restoring my apps. I have read in some ROMs where the ROM developer will say to restore the app only and not the app data. I would research your apps and see if any are not ICS compatible.
