Help Gingerbread Update Complexities

Vic-K

Lurker
Hey guys, I have an Atrix which is network-unlocked. Originally with Bell, now I'm using it with Rogers. I'm currently running 2.2.2 and I received a message informing me that an OTA update to Gingerbread was available. Tried to download it through wi-fi, and the status bar is stuck at 0%. When I select the 'System updates' tab in the settings menu, it says that an update is currently being downloaded and it will notify me when the download is complete. However, I no longer have a status bar showing, and I believe it has been 2 or 3 days now.

So, my question is, how do I cancel that download so that I can give it another shot? And is there a better way to upgrade than doing it OTA? Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Vic

If memory serves rebooting was the most common fix followed by toggling wifi.

Also if Froyo has the option, make sure your wifi is set to never sleep, or do the download with the power cable plugged in.
