Gingerbread Update for Galaxy S Suspended

Dude, your trolling has really been subpar since froyo came out. That doesn't event effect us. The Galaxy S is its own separate phone, and doesn't have any bearing on the Mesmerize. The link you posted has essentially zero significance to any of us.

Not to mention USCC has nothing, zero, zip, nada to do with Samsung releasing software upgrades for their phones. At least blame the right parties.

But yeah, the Galaxy S is not the Mesmerize. Another swing and a miss.

Seeing as the Mesmerize is a variant of the Galaxy S, is it that far off to believe we won't be getting 2.3 either?

We JUST got froyo. I wouldn't expect to see gingerbread for a few months at least. Besides, the GB snag that Samsung hit is only temporary, so it's not like the Galaxy S is NEVER going to get GB, it just might be a little longer for them.

X2 what Zebulon said.

Samsung has struggled to release their updates in anything resembling a timely manner.

We will very likely get 2.3 at some point--it just may not happen before another newer, sexier phone comes along to USCC that makes some of us move away.

There isn't too much functional difference between 2.2 and 2.3, so I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it.

So you are saying you don't know what you are talking about? Got it.
