Help Gingerbread update?

Hi,

I've been reading a lot about the Gingerbread update 2.3.5 and that it should be available for the Samsung Galaxy Ace. I have Android version 2.3.3 on my phone, but when I look to update via either the phone or Kies, it says I have the latest version.

Why would this be?

I only want to get any official updates, as I don't know enough about Android to be messing with things I don't understand, but why aren't Samsung offering me the updated software?

If it makes a difference, I am in the UK and on Virgin Mobile.

Thanks.

I'm not sure, have virgin definitely got 2.3.5 out? I think Vodafone has and thought Virgin did, but maybe not.

I'm on O2, still nothing..

Branded devices normally take a long time to update ROMs, but you can upgrade your device with other Stock ROMs for your area, using ODIN tool (instead of Kies). Before upgrade to other ROM, don't forget that you can loose device warranty! You must be careful and before upgrade, prepare rollback plan to original branded ROM to get warranty back :)

I really don't want to do anything that will void my warranty, especially since I'm new to Android and don't really know what I'm doing!

Thanks for the advice, but I think I will be better off with the Kies update - whenever it comes.

I'll just wait...:(

Mine is Unbranded on O2 but still no update on kies

On unbranded phones does it still depend on your network as to upgrade ??
