theory yes. apparently the boys with similar phones, the other ones following foxconn FB400 layout (btw the oem is foxconn makers of iphone/ipad/ipod) are having a horrible time rooting because the spice or cherry magnum or w/e phones theyre using came with an outdated kernel oh no! lets hope motorola updates it. i posted tons of info in the other threads here on android forums check it out. i am the triumph leak master!

Reports on howardforums are that gingerbreak 1.2 does indeed root it.

I did it last night and it worked fine, and all is still running fine.

I used Gingerbreak on mine last night as well. Confirmed it with the Root Access app.
No problems to report.

Root access confirmed here too. Setuser good, Busybox good, SetCPU good (but with no more than 1ghz.)

vet3shaws, can you check to see if you busybox has fdisk and dd?
did you just use the version off the market?
