One tip left off the list though is "don't use live wallpapers"
Yes, the tips you referred to are good ones, but live wallpapers do use extra battery life. If ones goal is maximum battery conservation, then live wallpapers are a no-go.

Yes, I agree with you.... but spending such an amount to get an Android smart phone and switching off it's special features wouldn't sound great....
Yes, even I close all the application that's running at the background to save a lot of battery....and they do save battery for me... .
