Gmail all marked as read

Is there anyway for me to prevent my gmail from coming into my phone marked as read?

What phone are you using and what version of Android?

Not sure how it comes to your phone as being read. I assume you didn't read them through other means.

Someone else checking your emails?

My wife and I pretty much share the same email... so we're always logged into gmail on the main computer.
Could something like this be happening in your case?
