Help GMail and Mail app conflict

Hey,

I'm having trouble with this pairing of apps on my phone. I've got a GMail account and an outlook web access (I think) account and I'd like to use just the mail app for both. At the moment the outlook account pushes emails to the mail app fine, no problems there.

The problem I've got is that the gmail account pushes emails to the gmail app, but not the mail app. Gmail emails appear in the gmail app (but don't make any noise to let me know) then arrive at the mail app when it refreshes itself (every 15mins I think). So I usually only notice I've got a gmail email when it arrives in the mail app, by which time I've got 2 copies of it on my phone.

Ideally I'd like to have gmail push emails to the mail app, and the gmail app to just go away. I wouldn't be too bothered if I only get gmail messages when the phone refreshes itself, but it'd be nice to have them pushed.

Can anyone give me any help?

In Menu > Setting > Accounts & sync, your Gmail account settings should be entered in the 'IMAP/POP3 mail' account option. 'Sync mail' should be checked.

In your Google account (in Accounts & sync), make sure 'Sync Gmail' is not checked (i.e. off).

You get two copies of emails when you have the same Gmail account in 'IMAP/POP3 account' and 'Google', and both are set to sync mail.
