Help Gmail app and Settings > personalize > sounds

[Deleted User]

Under notifications > Email I set a sound in there for my email. Does this not set it for gmail?

Also noticed that I have to go into Label settings and the desired label to set the ring tone. Is there not a way to set it globally?

I hate having to change it in so many places.

You don't have to change it in so many places, but you can if you want. Most apps will use default notification settings, so you can just change that. However, if you want different sounds in individual apps, you can change the sounds in those apps themselves.
