Root Gmail app is... Screwed

I am having force closes constantly in Cyanogenmod with the gmail app... I didn't do anything special, except download a theme from the market (I already uninstalled it). I have gotten around it by using the enhanced email for android app, but I like the integration with native gmail, ya know? Nay help/suggestions?

Try clearing the cache for your gmail app. Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Gmail -> Clear Cache.
Then delete it and re-download it (you can just get it from the market, you don't have to flash gapps).

I use k9mail instead, but there shouldn't be any issues with the gmail app in CM7.

Just a quick question... wouldn't deleting it clear out its cache? Or no... I'm just curious. I think I've tried re-installing it, but i'll try it once more, after clearing its data first. There can only be so many things wrong, right?

I think it should, but doing it manually to make sure won't hurt anything. It's got to be something on your side (either the app itself or another one interacting with it weird) because I haven't heard of many people having issues with that.

ALright, charging it up (it was dead after a few hours of pandora). We'll see if this fixes it... but The things that are different from stock CM7 are this- Gingerblur theme, HeLauncher 2, and widget locker (for the blur lockscreen). I legally acquired all of my apps, and have had them for about a month now. Give it about 5 minutes past 10;31, and I'll try what you suggested. Thanks for the help!

Just wondering, but does it force close whenever you receive an email? That's what mine is doing, everytime I get an email, Gmail force closes and sometimes it drags the SMS app down with it.
