Help GMail app no longer auto-syncs

ADDK

Lurker
Hello,

A little while ago I started up my Gmail app after an auto-update and found the message "auto-sync is off" and that I no longer got notified of new emails through it. This was quite annoying.

However, there was a "touch to turn on" message but it says that turning it on will sync changes in all apps and accounts. This is a problem, as I actually very much don't want to sync my Chrome on mobile and PC - I have a lot of tabs on it on mobile (because it's very stable at dealing with a lot of tabs) and I keep very few tabs open on it on PC (because it deals with lots of tabs absolutely terribly). So I definitely don't want that app syncing.

Is there any way to get GMail to auto-sync again without Chrome, or do I just have to live with this?

Go to settings->accounts->google
Touch the desired google account and uncheck everything but gmail.
