Help GMail App on Android - Change Colours of Mail?

jo69

Android Enthusiast
On my Gmail App on Android I would love to find a way to colour mail that is urgent or read or not.
Is it possible, as they all seem to merge together.
Or else they all go to the Important folder, which I cant seem to get rid of:eek:

I kept trying by creating labels and making them different colours
But couldn't figure out how to get the emails to go into them
So dragged them in myself.
Doing that made my ELibrary books show up in the mail list. A different colour!
So I can see them better. Which is great.

But all the other mail goes into the important folder
Which I have tried and tried to get rid of
Both on the pc and in the Gmail App!

You have created LABELS which is the first step. Next you need to create FILTERS so that emails from say, a certain sender or that mention a specific topic or word etc will go to whatever label you assign them to. I'm not sure if you can set up filters in the Gmail android app, you could try, but you can definitely do it in windows and then its just a matter of accessing it from whatever device you want to use. No more dragging and dropping.
