I just changed My primary Gmail address because I was getting lots of spam When I did I transfered all my contacts and stuff to my new Gmail address, but the thing thats bugging me know is that I can't look at my email unless someone sends me an email.
When I click on the gmail app I get this.
Waiting for sync

Your email wil appear shortly.

And it stays that way unless I get and email then it will show me my past email conversations and stuff.
Anyone know why? or how I can fix this?

I did No change what so ever.
thats why I decided to make a thread because I tried that already.
Any more ideas?

hmmm. If you did the sync then it shows whatever is currently in your inbox. I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do. Explain more

The only way I can look at my old email, lets say one I got the day before, is if a new email is pushed and open the email thru the notification. otherwise it will just say waiting for sync. when I try to open it thru the gmail icon.

Like I said if an email is pushed I can view old emails otherwise without a new email I can't see anything besides "Your email will appear shortly" and it says waiting for sync on top.

did you email yourself? You said if a new email gets pushed then you can see your old mail. THats why i said send something to yourself then sync again

Yea I did that but that really sucks that in order to check something on an old email I have to get a new email. I mean I rather do it on the computer if its going to do that.

its strange as to why thats happening. Whenever i sync every email in my inbox shows up. So do all of the labels too.

another thing I noticed is that when I press menu nothing comes up.
Like before I pressed menu and it would give me options now nothing comes up maybe that will help diagnose the problem.

Edit: I also tried rebooting nothing changed.

I loose everything with factory reset right? I guess I have no choice....Thx for the Help actually I have one more question...do any settings on the gmail account affect how they get delivered to my phone?

not that I know of. It seems that as soon as you get an email it:
A: goes directly to your device if you have auto sync on
B: Gets sent to your phone when you manually sync

good luck to you sir. I hope i have helped =]
