Gmail attachment- attach word/ pdf file

Anyone know how to attach word/pdf file attachent to gmail? I can only attach picture (jpg) files.

Download a file explorer program (Andexplorer, Astro file explorer).
then when you attach a file to an email, it will ask what program to use and use the file explorer to select your file.

that's what I do.
