GMail Contact and Chatting

Hello,

I just got my Droid ERIS and I was having some trouble with Gmail contacts and chatting with them.

I was wondering where do see my gmail contacts? I cannot find the list of them.

Second, once I find my contacts how do I start chatting with them if they are logged onto Gmail?

Thanks for any help.

By chat, I assume you are talking about IM? If so, you need to install an app to IM. Here are a few:

eBuddy IM v1.4 Application for Android | Communication

Meebo IM v22 Application for Android | Communication

IM+ Lite v2.0.4 Application for Android | Communication

Nimbuzz v1.2.0 Build: 4154.41 Application for Android | Communication

Xumii v1.24.13 Application for Android | Social

I used Meebo and now use ebuddy ... both work well

The chatting I was talking about was the chatting you can do through gmail. If you open your inbox, on a PC, you can open a chat window with your gmail contacts. I have chatted with people who say they are on their phones and I was wondering how I do that.

I think you do it through the Google Talk app that should have already come preloaded on your phone. Look for the icon and open it, and you should see everybody there.
