Help Gmail contacts when no connection

Hi,

If I save all of my contacts in "Google Gmail Account", will I be able to see all of my contacts when there is no wireless connection(i.e. no wi-fi and no 3G).

I want to understand consequences if I save all of my contacts in "Google Gmail Account".
e.g.
Is it also save a local copy on my phone so that, when there is no wireless connection, I can see the contacts?
Can I add, edit, delete the contacts even though the Gmail server is down or no connection.

Thanks.

Can't say I've done this before, why not copy some over to Google, disable data all together temporarily then see if you can access those contacts. Let up know how you get on!

There's a copy on your phone and a copy on the server. If you change 1 then the change gets sync'd with the other copy. So it is on your phone when you have no connection.
