Gmail Doesn't show email from me

I belong to some email groups on groups.yahoo.com. Every time you send a message to the group, everyone on the group list receives it. Therefore, when I send a message to group, everyone, including me, should get it.

However, my Gmail is displaying everyone's messages except mine. I see all of their messages in my inbox, but my messages to the group never arrive. I worry that my messages weren't sent. However, when I go online to look at the yahoo group account, my message is there. It just never appears in my email app on my phone, or if I go to the Gmail Web interface on my computer.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any fixes? Thanks.

I don't use groups.yahoo.com but I do research as a hobby. This link might help. Basically what it's saying is you need to be a paid subscriber to Yahoo!'s services in order to have POP3 access to your Yahoo! mailbox.

Thanks. However, that's about something different. I don't have a yahoo email account. I just am on mailing lists that are sent out by yahoo groups. I receive the email messages when someone else in the group has sent it. I just don't receive it when I sent a message to the group. It's very annoying, because I don't know if my message arrived or not.

Yes, my gmail account is registered with the yahoo groups. I can send from that account, and I receive everyone else's posts in my gmail address. Just not mine. Yes, I saw my post in my "Sent" folder.

I'm thinking that perhaps Gmail has a SPAM filter that filters out group mail when the "From" address matches the "to" address. I'm not sure. I looked through the settings on my Gmail account, but didn't find any place that I could change a setting like that. Maybe I missed something.

Maybe the forum software is smart enough not to send the sender's messages to the sender's email account. There might be a forum setting to bypass it.

I know on this and other forums, when I post to a thread that I get email notifications for, I don't get a notification for my own posts.

Thanks. I've been doing more checking. One of the other list members with a gmail address says it's always been that way for her. I, on the other hand, used to use another email address with the same list and always say my own posts. Therefore, I thought something was wrong when I started using my gmail address - that my posts weren't arriving.

I guess it must be a feature of gmail rather than the list. I'd rather see my own posts like before to make sure that they made it. However, it may be beyond my control.

If you still have that other email account you can link it to Gmail and use Gmail to send messages from that email address. That way when a reply comes to the old email address you'll see it on Gmail. You could do the same thing with a new email account as well if you don't still have that old email address. Here's a link for how to set it up from How to Geek it uses Live Hotmail as an example.
