Gmail download intervals

Posting this here but it's not a specific Moto G question. Not long ago I changed the download interval of one of my gmail acounts and I cannot remember where I changed this. I've looked at gmail on my laptop and at various settings on my mobile. I have done this before but cannot remember / find it again. Does anyone know? I've currently set it to a few times a day but would like to change it to more frequent.

Open the gmail app, then click on settings>account name that you want to change. About halfway down the screen you should see sync frequency.

I went to those settings many times, as that seems to be the logical place to go. The only options I seem to have are Sync Gmail (on or off (tick box) and 'Days of emails to sync' which is something different. No option for sync frequency.

If the other accounts are google accounts, too, then they will "push" to your phone and not require the app to poll the server like it needs to do with POP3 or some IMAP accounts.

Do you mean I should change this on the web and not on the phone. Don't know what you mean. Yes other accounts are gmail too.

gmail is a push service. When an email shows up for your account on the server, it get's pushed to the phone immediately. There should be no sync interval as it's immediate.

Are you saying there is a delay when you get the incoming mail?

a delay on purpose as I told it to only download every 'few hours'/number of times per day'. I told it to do this only maybe 2 months ago but can't remember where I did this. Yes I get a whole bumch that's been saved up which are released at the same time, which is what I told it to do. It must be in gmail itself somewhere I think, nothing to do with mobile probably.
