Gmail email problem

Ok i am new here but anyway I deleted my gmail mail address that was the default email on my lg optipmus v and don't know how to change the default to the new gmail I created and added to my phone. I keeps teling me I have reset to factory settings and there has to be a way to change the default without deleting everything on my phone. So does anyone know how to change the default? And if there is no way to change the default is there a way to backup everything on my phone including contacts?

settings>accounts and synch> add account should do it? And also delete the old gmail account from there if not using it anymore?

Same way you added it, just hit Remove/Delete when you click it. I think you may have to hold down on the specific account for the option to come up.

Yup.. you have to click on the account to go into it and then you should see the delete option at the bottom or in your menu options (varies slightly from phone to phone I believe)

For you to get your Android phone to sync with Google services (maps, gmail, voice dial, etc) it must be registered to a gmail account. If you deleted the gmail account that your phone was registered to, then the only way to get it to work with Google services again is to perform a full factory reset. If you could change accounts as simply as adding a gmail account, then is you had the gmail login of some one else, you could add the account, install all their paid apps without paying for them and then delete the account.

Go to menu>settings>privacy and select factory data reset

Make sure all your important data and files are backed up as they will be wiped from the phone.

You can export your contacts by opening the contacts app and pressing menu>import/export (I don't have the Optimus so it might be in another menu location), and you can back up data by copying the entire contents of your sd card to a pc.
