Help Gmail for Android - Delete Starred and Important folders?

Is it possible to hide/ delete the starred and important folders in Gmail Android App?
Just want a simple inbox.

If you mean remove them from the menu/selection list no.

If you mean you just want to use the default inbox then go into Gmail settings, click your account and set inbox type to default. Then make sure, under priorities, that nothing is selected.

Open Gmail, select Menu (the three-line "hamburger" top-left), and ensure that Inbox is selected. All received email should be visible in that view; "Starred" and "Impotant" are merely sub-sets of it.

Thanks for replying Did that but for some reason an email I was waiting for only showed up in important folder Don't even want an Important folder and nearly missed it.

I haven't seen the problem you describe. I think you can turn this feature off in pc gmail (from pc browser) and it may carry over to your phone:
