Root GMail Gones Mad - Again

Anyone noticed problems with the unread count on GMail after GV 1.6

GV 1.5 gave me issues on SMS counts and now this.

Scenario

No emails, 1 arrives count goes to 3, read email count goes to 2. Next email in count goes to 7 read it, count goes to 5.

Currently showing 13 unread mail (there are none).

Titanium wont uninstall gmail and allow me to unload.

Any ideas????

Have you tried logging onto gmail on your PC to see whether there are actually emails in you inbox? I occasionally get the odd 1 showing in the count but not in the inbox when i open it on the phone. However, when i open it on my PC there is indeed email there

Does it come with latest gmail? Last version gave me this but latest fine.

Also if you flashed without wipe, wipe gmail data via manage apps. I often get this after nandroid restore too.

If you're not on latest, flash latest.

Clear data solved it.

Couldn't get on with the blacked out one Dan. There wasn't enough difference between read and unread in the inbox view.

Fair enough matey. Yes usually clear data resolves.

All the unread mails that came down after the data clear wer once I had previously read and deleted.

Seems GMail got a bit confused.

It sometimes happens when the .apk is replaced and the data remains the same. It also happens if I titanium restore the app and data or Nandroid.
