Gmail is causing Internet disconnection

This has been happening for a few days now.

My online connection is fine but the moment I
click on my Gmail account I lose Internet connection.

This is Android 4.1.1 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1

Welcome to Android Forums.

I moved your question to the forum where your tablet is discussed.

You could try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them) and if the problem disappears you will know it is caused by an app you added.

Brilliant. It was in fact the last app that I installed (Tunein Radio) which caused the problem.
