gtbarry Android Expert Sep 11, 2012 #2 In Android (4.1.1) you can create widgets for gmail (I assume the inbox) and for a gmail label. It sounds like you are talking about an individual mail that you have. If so, give it a unique gmail label? then widget that label on your homescreen?

What I ended up doing is creating a label for the message and then creating a shortcut to that label on my home screen.
