Gmail & Messenger on the same Home page

I am missing SMS/Texts on my N4 as I cannot seem to have both the Gmail & Messenger widgets on the same home page.

The minimum size of both widgets (3x3 & 3x2) are too large. I only get texts once a week ish.

Any clever solutions that would allow me to see my Gmail & texts at the same time?

I looked for apps that combine SMS and emails, but haven't found any reliable ones.

You can resize the widgets. Long press on one then move the grips to a size that will let you put both of them on the page.

Thanks, I had figured out that, but widgets have a minimum size. I can't get them below 3x3 & 3x2 so they won't fit on one home page.

Is there any way to 'compress' icons & widgets to get more on a page?

use a launcher, such as nova launcher. you can then set the amount of columns and rows for your homescreens.
