Help Gmail not connecting

as of the last two days, my GMail is not connecting or syncing regularly. my inbox usually shows the no connection button and when i try to end an email it literally can take hours to send. any advice

could always try a factory reset. bet it'd solve the problem.

then there's the standard "have you changed any settings/installed any new apps, delete your apps one by one and find out if one of them is causing the problem" answer.

This happens to me from time to time. Rebooting the phone resyncs everything, but I don't know of another solution.
