Gmail not pushing?

I have a droid incredible and for some reason my Gmail is not pushing the emails. I have yo go in & refresh the app. I have the most recent update & don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

I'm rooted with Froyo. No task killers installed. I've uninstalled Gmail and reinstalled - same problem.

You sure you have Background Sync / Auto Sync enabled?

Did you install any traffic managing apps that could be interfering with Gmail push?

If all else fails, try installing K9 and see if you get the push. If it pushes in K9, then something's not right with the gmail app.

If you don't get push in K9 either, then maybe you need to discuss with the ROM cook.

I've migrated from gmail to K9 because I like it's universal inbox AND the dethreading. I like threaded email online, but on my phone, I prefer unthreaded and K9 dethreads.

I'm stock, unrooted Captivate, and gmail is pushing fine through K9.

I had the same problem.

This took me FOREVER to figure out.

If you go to MY ACCOUNTS - select your google account.. Do you see checkboxes next to the sync options?

What happened for me was the SYNC was toggled off - and the checkboxes disappeared.

You have to find an open space on your home screen and add the POWER CONTROL widget - then re-enable the SYNC (it's 2nd from the left I believe). Once it's on - you can delete the widget. then go back into the google account via my account - and see if the checkboxes have reappeared... if so - check them - and then you should be good to go.
