Help gmail not refreshing

Since the update my gmail does not refresh consistently. Sometimes if I go to the browser it will then refresh.
Is there a setting I do not know about that might have been changed?

Check you accounts and sync settings. Make sure background data is on and that your gmail acount is set to refresh. Hope that helps..

I went into the sync part and the gmail sync was locked up. I turned it off and then back on and it is working great now.
