Root Gmail not syncing from phone back to web

I have an EVO 4g running CM 7.2. I have HORRIBLE battery life so I decided to wipe the phone and flash CM7.2 again to see if was a rogue app or something. My battery life was just as bad so I flashed back the backup I'd made. All seems OK, except now whatever changes I make in GMAIL on the phone don't get synced back to the web. Changes on the web DO get synced, though... Any suggestions? Thanks! Morgan

Perhaps delete gmail and redownload the gmail apk and re-sign in?
Edit: or clear cache and data from the existing apk.
