Help Gmail not working

I keep getting the following messages when I try to access my email:

- process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
- unfortunately gmail has stopped.

What can I do???

I had similar problem so follow what I did Settings->Application Manager->All tab. I scrolled to the bottom. Download Manager was diabled. I enabled it.
