Gmail questions

I'm coming from the blackberry world, but my wife was nice enough to save me and get me an HTC Eris. I have my gmail sent to my phone, (obviously), but I seem to be getting the email twice. Once in mail and a copy in the Gmail app. Can I delete the gmail app to avoid this?

2nd question... Is there a way to filter which emails get to my phone?

thanks

Yes, there are 2 email apps, you have set up both to your GMail. Only use the Gmail app for your Gmail - your the other Email app for anything other email addresses. The Gmail app has the advantage of having email pushed to it when the data connection is active.

Okay and if I uhh accidentally delete the mail app like a dumba$$ what are my options?

What exactly did you do? Remove the icon from the desktops? Click on Menu on the desktop to get a list of all your apps, then search for Mail.
