Help GMail Signature Issues

davejc

Lurker
I have tried searching, here, for this issue to no avail. I have tried Google search to no avail.

I have 4 Gmail Accounts setup on my Transformere, and want to use a unique signature for each one. Sounds easy enough...

I can do a signature for Account A with no problem.
I can do a signature for Account B with no problem.
If I do a signature for Account C, it will overwrite the signature on Account A.

It happens regardless which of the 4 accounts I am working with.

I have the same setup on my 3vo (it has 5 accounts with 5 unique signatures) and it was no problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?? Does anyone have a recommendation how to get passed this??

Possible workaround:
Have you tried to setup your GMail accounts in the email app instead of the GMail app?

Sorry, I've only got 2 GMail accounts, so I'm no help with GMail app and 4 accounts.

No, I have my work email (pop3) setup in the default email app, and I use gmail for my personal addresses and the like.

I'm wondering if this is a Honeycomb issue?? As I said above, I do not have this issue at all on my Gingerbread 3vo.

I did some testing in adding one gmail to the main mail app. It works fine enough, downloads tags and what not.

The main concern, for me,is the frequency and speed of delivery. The gmail app gets push delivery from the servers, where the email app queries the server on a specified frequency. So, i may not get that message until 15 minutes later. My second job is on google apps. The boss doesnt like me getting email late.

Still more testing to do.

You can configure the stock email to use a different frequency of server check. Automatic (Push), or 5, 10, 15, 30, 60minute intervals..

I will have to check that tonight. I do not recall seeing an "automatic" setting, there were only "None", "5 minutes", "15 minutes", etc.

Yea, I just checked the settings for that. None, 5 Minutes, 10 Minutes, 15 Minutes, 30 Minutes, 1 Hour. No setting for Automatic.

Yea that's too bad about the multiple email accounts and corresponding signatures. It would be nice if it would "follow" the settings set up on the account

On the topic of the stock email client..why use it for gmail?

It was just a suggestion for a workaround. Hopefully there's someone out there who's run into this before. I skimmed over the GMail and Android official forums, but didn't see anything. You might try posting the same query in those forums Davejc.
