Gmail Signature Problems - Cursor misplaced

OK, been using Gmail app for years and suddenly yesterday the cursor started being at the end of my signature instead of at the top of the email when I click Reply/Reply All.

I did not make any changes to my signature.

I searched everything I could find and removed all blank lines.

No matter what I do, the cursor goes directly to the end of my signature.

I don't know what else to try.

This is for gmail accounts and exchange accounts. It does not happen on other devices.

If I remove the signature, then the cursor remains in the top line, as it should, with the words, Compose Email. Those words do not appear in the accounts where I am having issues.

Same here, seems to have just started. Must be a bug somewhere, never happened before.

Google Nexus 6p, using SwiftKey Keyboard.
 
Same issue here started yesterday

Samsung Galaxy S7

Didn't notice any update to the gmail app though...

I have deleted signature and recreated it again and it doesn't help.

Anybody can help?
 
Same here, galaxy s7 edge.
Looks like the last gmail update was 8/22. I first saw this 8/30 or 8/31.

Hopefully an update is pushed out soon
 
Thank you GOD! I thought I was losing my mind. Although, I haven't heard much else online about it, so I'm guessing that it isn't getting much attention (or only a few of us use signatures).
 
Having the same problem. I use gmail for work so this is happening dozens of times per day. Very frustrating and time consuming. I corrected the problem by rolling back to the factory version of gmail on my HTC 10 but when I got up this morning my phone had updated it to the currrent version and now I am experiencing the same problem all over again.
 
Same issue here. I doubt that we are few in numbers. Galaxy Note 5. Come on Gmail, please install a new version sooner than later.
 
I am also having this problem. It began several days ago. Tried same fixes as mentioned above, got same results. Only solution so far is to not use a signature...which isn't really a solution.
 
I have the same exact issue. I tried using blue mail to determine if it was a device issue and the signature works perfectly, as expected, in BlueMail. Also I went to Gmail in the app manager and cleared cache and cleared data and that didn't work either. Really annoying.
 
Same problem as everyone else. Have not been able to find a solution. Definitely a Gmail update needed.

Same problem. Galaxy S7. Only on Reply (All). Not on Compose.
 
Ditto. New to this forum stuff - do we have to pile up enough complaints to get a solution from android?

What's frustrating is for years, you go through the motions and replying to emails is one of those things. I will type an entire reply only to look at it before sending and it's at the bottom! VERY FRUSTRATING!
